Pretoria North’s well-established suburbs and brilliant climate makes it one of the preferred neighbourhoods to call home. Residents often mention their love for the vegetation, large mature trees, clean air and of course the gorgeous Magaliesberg Mountain.
The convenience of being ±10 kilometers away from the city is another factor which contributes to the Pretoria North suburbs being a great area for working families. For this reason, there are a number of young families and professionals who have relocated to this area. There has also been a growth in the small units developments and gated community lifestyle although all types of lifestyles are represented from apartments, townhouses, stand-alone houses and residential estates to smallholdings.
Situated at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountain the area is surrounded by nature and great landscapes, it is also close to nature reserves such as Wonderboom and Onderstepoort and a variety of museums and other attractions. Easy access to highways like the N1, N4 and R80 makes it attractive to discover the world around you. Wonderpark shopping mall and Wonderboom Junction are close by while the Kolonade is easily accessed via Zambezi. Brooklyn Mall and Menlyn Park are just over 20 minutes’ drive away and travelling becomes desirable as OR Tambo and Lanseria Airports are about 40 minutes away while Wonderboom Airport is just around the corner.
There are well-established schools with large sports grounds in the area as well as an adequate selection of nursery and pre-primary schools. The University of Pretoria is a short drive away and Tshwane University of Technology (former Pretoria Technikon) is a neighbour. Medunsa and Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute are only a stone’s throw away.
Medical facilities in the vicinity are Netcare Akasia, Netcare Montana, Eugene Marais, Steve Biko and a 24hr Medicross centre. The Eye Institute and the Ear Institute are located in the city and there are sufficient doctors and dentists available.
