Lincoln University is hosting the 20th Pacific Rim Real Estate Society annual conference this weekend.
One hundred participants from as far away as the UK, South Africa and Finland will descend on Canterbury to discuss the conference theme Resilient Communities: Providing for the Future.
Lincoln University Professor of Property Studies Sandy Bond says she is excited for the participants to see what is happening with the rebuild and how Christchurch is moving forward.
"There are some papers being put forward on sustainability and resilience - they're sort of hot topics at the moment.
"We have a chaired panel session on home affordability which is a big issue, not only for Christchurch but for Auckland city as well."
Professor Bonds adds that former Lincoln Professor of Property John Baen who is now a Professor of Real Estate at the University of North Texas is a keynote speaker.
