It was a relief for South African business community and the Property market when the Reserve Bank Governor, Gill Marcus announced yesterday, 27th March at the second Monetary Policy Committee meeting of this year that the prime interest rate would remain at its current rate of 9%. Still on a positive side of life, the South African investment property sector maintained modest growth delivering a total return of 15.3% in 2013. Read an article titled SA’s Property Sector maintains a steady growth in 2013 for more.

In an article titled Property presents investors with a simpler alternative, Rawson points out the pros of investing in property in comparison to stock market as an investment channel.

Although the removal of adverse consumer credit information and information on paid up court judgments, published in new regulations of the National Credit Act 2005 on 25 February 2014 has caused some alarm in the property sector, Mike van Alphen, National Manager of Rawson Finance, the Rawson Property Group’s bond origination division says changes aren't as bad as many fears.
