A wise man once said, "change is as good as a holiday"; or was it a woman? Whether a man or woman, we at Tivvit concur with his or her notion thus our weekly Newsletter will start being issued on Thursdays instead of Fridays, a routine our regular readers might have gotten accustomed to. We hope you'll embrace this change. To all our new readers, welcome on board and here we go.

It has been reported or rather predicted by Marc Wainer, CEO of Redefine Properties that interest rates will be one of the most important underlying forces for South Africa’s listed property in 2014. See an article titled SA’s Listed Property 2014 Outlook Guardedly Positive for a full story.

Still on the positive side of life, according to the survey that covers a sample of public and private enterprises involved in the short-stay accommodation industry‚ a t otal income for SA's tourist accommodation industry rose by 10.5% year-on-year (y/y) in nominal terms (current prices). See a full story on Total income from tourist accommodation up 10.5%

We also have Top five tips for first-time landlords. Whether you are an investor who has found an excellent income-generating rental property or a homeowner renting out your property, a cottage on your property or an extra room in your home, read an article below for a handy advice.

Behold a return of the Golden Oldies. It seems like Old is the new New in Pretoria. According to Realnet, "traditional family homes on single stands in Die Wilgers and surrounding suburbs are once again “hot property” in the eyes of buyers with young families." For more on this, read Oldies' back in fashion in eastern Pretoria.
