After US politicians failed to reach agreement on a budget for the remainder of the fiscal year, leading to a partial shutdown of the US government, South Africa’s listed property sector declined by just under 1%. Read US shutdown impacts listed property sector for a full story.

Mike van Alphen, National Manager of Rawson Finance, the bond origination division of the Rawson Property Group, has commented that there are small but significant signs that the outlook for the residential property market is improving. Read more on Signs of an improvement in the demand for homes.

The city of Cape Town on Wednesday hosted the first of a series of public meetings to inform residents of the statutory processes that are about to commence to ensure the sustained financial viability of the stadium.
